Responsible gambling

Nobody under 18 may open a casino account in New Zealand. For everyone else, the only money that belongs in a cashier is money you are prepared to lose entirely.

The habits worth watching for are specific: topping up again right after a loss, stretching a session well past the point you meant to stop, keeping the amounts to yourself, and treating a win as proof the next deposit is safe. Deposit caps, loss caps and session timers sit in the account settings of every brand on this site. Set them on day one, because a lower limit applies at once while a higher one has to wait out a cooling-off period.

Help is free and confidential. Gambling Helpline NZ answers on 0800 654 655, around the clock, and the Problem Gambling Foundation of New Zealand runs face to face counselling. Both talk to partners and family, not only to the person playing.
